Pause, even when everything asks you to speed up
Sometimes clarity begins with a small step against the current.
Sometimes, finding clarity means being willing to swim against the current. It can feel uncomfortable.
The current is everything carrying us forward: responsibilities, messages, appointments, what we planned to do and what we cannot afford to forget.
We move, organise and anticipate the next thing. Eventually, we may stop noticing how fully we are caught in that movement.
A pause can begin when we notice. A few minutes to see what is taking up all the space, hear what we need and recover a choice.
For a leader, that attention reaches others too. How we enter a meeting, listen to a difficulty or respond under pressure influences what people feel able to express.
This week, choose one moment when you could slow down enough to regain your presence.
At what point in your day do you most need room to breathe?
